Funny Bruno is a household name in Nigeria's entertainment space, especially in comedy, but not many know him by his real name, Jerryson Bruno Akpomiomio.
Born into the family of Mr & Mrs Jerryson Boyd Omoza, in Irri Isoko South local government area of Delta State, Funny Bruno has through hard work, commitment and dedication worked himself to the top, to become a microphone magician when it comes to cracking funny, yet meaningful jokes.
Highly reserved and publicity-shy graduate of Delta state Polytechnic, Ogwashi Ukwu told newsmen in his palatial Abuja home that choosing comedy was one of his best life decisions as it has helped in transforming him.
He said through God's grace and his talent, he has dined with kings and queens through his chosen career, creating a network of friendship that has added value to him.
"Comedy has really changed my life. What started like a joke in the school in my undergraduate days has blossomed into a booming career. I started by being the centre of attraction in the school by cracking jokes in small small gathering of students.
"I later created a second address for myself by learning tiling. Yes I'm a professional tiler and I can still do it today. It was when I discovered that one can actually make a living through comedy as an aspect of entertainment that I decided taking it up as a field of profession", he told reporters.
According to Funny Bruno, apart from the fame, comedy has also brought him closer to people of power and those who have made success for themselves.
He owes lots of appreciation to his parents for being supportive in his chosen career even at a time it was highly unpopular in the country's entertainment space.
Often regarded as one of the funniest finest Nigeria standup comedian, Funny Bruno has performed in high profile functions across the country, putting up intriguing and thrilling performances that leave guests satisfied.
An on-air personality and host of Amebo on ITV Abuja & Radio in Abuja the nation's capital, Funny Bruno is also the host of annual star-studded comedy show, FUNNY BRUNO COMEDY SHOW.
Through comedy, he has been to several countries, including UK where he held UK Tour last year, Sweden, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and more.
He has also expanded his empire as he recently ventured into real estate. He is the CEO of Bruno Realty Nig Ltd and CEO House of Funny Bruno Nig Ltd.
On May 3, 2025 all road will lead to Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja for his comedy show which is expected to have top class comedians, top business executives and politically exposed persons.
