A local security group, Agunechemba, has apprehended a group of suspected kidnappers in the Agu Odumodu Umunya community, Anambra State.

The suspects reportedly disguised themselves as cattle sellers in an attempt to lure and abduct a cow meat trader named Chikamso.

According to reports, Chikamso narrowly escaped the ambush set by the suspects and alerted the Agunechemba security group.

Acting swiftly, the security team tracked down and apprehended the suspects.

Speaking in Igbo, one of the security personnel recounted the incident: “These are Fulani cattle rearers we caught in the bush. There is a certain meat seller whom they lured into the bush to come check the cows, his name is Chikamso, this is the person they called to come buy the cow.

“When he got there, they ambushed him with arms (AK 47), but he managed to escape to Udu and call us,when we got there, they shot at us, but we managed to arrest these three.”
