A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Faizu Alfindiki, has provided 50 smartphones and data bundles worth N5 million to social media influencers as part of efforts to promote President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking at an event on Monday, Alfindiki, the immediate past Chairman of Kano Municipal Council, revealed that the selected influencers—who hail from Kano and beyond—are tasked with highlighting Tinubu’s achievements and governance record.
He emphasized that the chosen influencers were strategically selected based on their reach and engagement on digital platforms, ensuring a wider dissemination of pro-Tinubu content.
According to Alfindiki, their role extends beyond advocating for the president’s policies and programmes as they have also been assigned the responsibility of promoting the vision of APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, in a broader effort to solidify the party’s standing ahead of the next election cycle.
He described the initiative as a calculated strategy to harness the influence of social media in shaping political discourse and mobilizing support for the APC-led administration.
Political analysts view Alfindiki’s move as a significant step in leveraging digital advocacy to enhance Tinubu’s re-election prospects. With millions of Nigerians actively engaged on social media, the influencers are expected to play a key role in driving political narratives in favor of the president.
Recipients of the empowerment packages expressed their appreciation for Alfindiki’s support, pledging to actively promote Tinubu’s leadership and the core principles of the APC.
