The leadership of the Amalgamated Union of app based transporters of Nigeria FCT-ABUJA council strongly condemns the recent price slash by app companies, including Bolt, Uber, and Indrive.

Despite the soaring costs of vehicle maintenance, fuel, and spare parts, these companies have deem it fit to reduce prices, further squeezing the already meager earnings of drivers.

"We totally reject this price slash and its implications on the livelihoods of our members," said by the Chairman FCT-Abuja AUATON, Comrade John Unuigbe . "It is unacceptable that these companies would prioritize profits over the welfare of our drivers."

The UnionP.R.O comr Arinze notes that the price slash will have far-reaching consequences, including:

- Reduced earnings for drivers, making it difficult for them to maintain their vehicles and provide for their families.
- Increased costs for drivers, as they will be forced to absorb the reduced fares.
- Decreased quality of service, as drivers will be forced to cut corners to make ends meet.

"We urge the app companies to reconsider this decision and engage with the FCT-ABUJA AUATON leadership in meaningful dialogue to find a lasting solution that works for all stakeholders, "We will not fold our hands and watch our members suffer in penury or exploited."

AUATON FCT- council vows to take all necessary steps to protect the interests of its members and ensure that they are treated fairly and with dignity.
