President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the killing of a group of travelling hunters who were reportedly intercepted by local vigilantes in the Uromi community of Esan North Local Government Area, Edo State.

Expressing shock over the incident on Thursday, the President directed law enforcement agencies to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.

In a statement issued by Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, on Friday , Tinubu extended his condolences to the victims’ families, assuring them that criminal elements would not be allowed to spill innocent blood without consequences.

The President emphasized that jungle justice has no place in Nigeria and reaffirmed the right of every citizen to move freely across the country.

He also commended Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and community leaders in Uromi for their prompt intervention in preventing further unrest.
