The descendants of Obamwonyi: the first Enogie of Ukhiri-ERESOYEN Community, Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area in Edo State have appreciated the Oba of Benin, OmoNoba N’Edo Uku Akpololo, Oba Ewuare II for the suspension of Richard Ogunbor ( also known as Omonefe) from the Enogie stool over his alleged rebellious activities.

Recall that the descendants: Osaze Nomwan ( Osas) Okoro, Mr Agho Friday Aibuedefe, Monday Itosere, Ebenovbe Onaiwu, Osayomwanbo Imafidon, Julius Ogbeide, among others through their lawyer, Barr. Friday Osakpawman Ogieriahikhi had few months ago, in a letter appealed to the Oba of Benin to rescue them in the alleged tyrannical activities of the suspended Enogie, particularly when he perpetuated himself as the Enogie with heavy heart volumes of irregularities.

While expressing their gratitude and profound appreciation to His Royal Majesty for the well deserved order of ” indefinite suspension” against Ogunbor from further parading himself:, as Enogie of Ukhiri-ERESOYEN Community, the descendants described the decision by the Oba as a great relief for them, most importantly with the decision not be addressed as Enogie or any title in the community , adding that it is”the last straw that had broken the camel’s back.”

Leader of the descendants, Mr Friday Aibuedefe Agho who spoke to journalists in Benin City, Edo State, said: “The decision of the Oba on Richard Osaigbovo Ogunbor, hitherto had created blissful atmosphere for us in Ukhiri-ERESOYEN Community and as descendants of Obamwonyi, we can now sleep in happiness. We are absolutely loyal to Your Majesty’s Supreme father of Benin Nation. We are also grateful to the Benin Traditional Council ( BTC) among others ” and prayed that repeated affliction shall not rise the second in their domain.
